Noted the date and a thought arose. I departed Wiley Barracks aboard The Freedom Bus on December 21, 1971...50 years ago today. At Fort Dix I was discharged on 12/23/71, which just happened to be my 20th birthday.

Seems like just yesterday in many ways.

I was stationed at Wiley 1961 to 1962. HQ Co. Commo section under Sgt. Shockley. Those were the days! Monthly alerts, great EM Club featuring \"Dime Night\", no tops on Jeeps (ever), etc.. Does anyone remember? I posted this several years ago but nobody responded.

I was in Neu Ulm 2nd 33rd B Battery from the end of 1979 until mid 1981. Sgt Brown, Sgt Marvin Jett and a host of others. My homie from NJ was a member of the boxing team with 1000 Watts, another homie from NJ. Our first Sgt passed away while I was there under Captain Ball, Sfc Jones and his cohort Sfc Larry I believe, short and dark skinned. Slim the gambler and my roommate Shakleford used to go head to head every pay day. Anyone out there still, drop me a line, I\'d like to know how everyone is doing these days.
