good news on FICA refunds?

This may be nothing really, but after filing amended returns for 1998, 1999, and 2000 back in 2001, and waiting forever for the IRS to pull their head out of you know what, I received a letter from them saying they've lost my paperwork and want me to resubmit my amended returns so they can finish processing them. Fortunately, I've got copies of everything dating all the way back into the early 90s. My guess is they just destroyed everything and are hoping I can't resubmit. Any comments from the CPAs here would be appreciated.

You might as well resend the paperwork. I still don't know if the IRS has figured out what they plan to do about this FICA refund issue.

Please keep submitting updates whenever you hear from the IRS regarding your FICA taxes.
