Hi friends, it's May and I'm tardy again. *yikes* I hope this finds you healthy and making the best of this time. It's starting to get a little hot up here in the desert but Jonny hooked us up with a swimming hole and I'm staying busy with some fun projects. Jonny and I traveled down to Ramona recently to explore Harbour Farm and we took mom, Chewch and Penny to Big Bear for a walk in the park. We've been enjoying bonfires, sunsets and full moons, these views and everyone is healthy so we aren't doing any complaining. Let me know how you're doing? xo Cathryn
On April 10th I started posting a "song a day" on the Cathryn Beeks Ordeal Facebook page which I then share on my main FB page. I share the song, the story behind it, where and with whom it was recorded. It's mostly for my enjoyment and to give me something to do each morning but I've been discovering a lot of stuff I had totally forgotten about. Yay.
Making a Stop Motion Video!
I'm playing with pipecleaners again for my song DAYLIGHT from 20 Years Here. I've been making the sets and finalizing faces and waiting for a cool enough day so I can crawl around in the desert with my camera. I'm hoping to have it finished by the end of May, stay tuned!
Calamity is making a movie!
Calamity is feverishly working on our Lady Brain Felm Fest submission for 2020. We are excited at the possibily of being part of this exciting event and hope we can get it together in time. Each of us will be writing, directing, filming and starring in our individual portions of the movie...wish us luck! HeyCalamity.com
My Dad's birthday is May 9th, he would have been 85 this year. I miss him so much it stings and I know my amazing mother is dealing with so much right now... her strength inspires me. This will be the first year without him, without our family together to celebrate birthdays and mother's day. I am grateful for all those times we WERE able to be together and laugh and eat and play cards and make memories that I cherish today. Life is short but beautiful. xo
