I found some 4" single wall stainless steel stove pipes (for dickinson stoves) for a sardine stove installation on a small boat. Is it okay to use this? I know they'll require extra shielding.
Thx Andrew. I understand that double-wall makes better draft, and less creosote. Do you generally recommend double-walled for a Sardine for use in a boat?
Since a boat 99% of the time uses a deck iron for passage of single wall pipe up through the deck and a conical head tops the iron on the exterior, insulated pipe is never used. Single wall pipe down below is the norm. Some will put grilles on the pipe below decks to avoid accidental contact, but there's no insulating value in that accessory. Compromised draft or excessive creosote generation has not been an issue. Insulated pipe is used for residential installs. A/NSW
