I wonder if there is anyone out there who was at Lady Bankes from 1939-46? Head was Mrs Poulden I think. She caned me twice! Heaps of coke alongside front playground were used aas weapons - I still bear the scars as I was in leg irons. First two years in huts at right hand side. Wartime lessons on partly underground shelter tunnels, I remember water under the duckboards there. Mrs Kenworthy in 1945 was best teacher. Classes upstairs moved from room to room in columns of three and corridors painted with road signs. I was ink monitor. Friends included Derek Graydon. V2 rocket exploded high over school in July 1944 and we hid under desks!
