CALEMA WINDSURFING’S 10TH ANNUAL JUNIOR OLYMPICS - June 21-22, 2008!
10th Annual USA Junior Olympic Windsurfing Festival
Calema Windsurfing and Watersports is celebrating their ten year anniversary of hosting the Junior Olympics! The only Junior Olympics in the country with windsurfing! To celebrate, Calema will be hosting FREE learn to windsurf session on Saturday, June 21st, from 9:30am till 11am, for ages 8-17. Space is limited, so it is recommended that your register in advance. Online registration is available! Register Online! Check in will be at 9am at the Pro shop. There will also be a FREE build a boat contest for any age. Building will take place from 10am-2pm with racing of the mini-boats at 3pm down a PVC tube powered only by the wind.
For those kids that already know how to windsurf, Calema will be holding races. There are 3 divisions - novice (just learned this summer - will race on a course close to shore) - intermediate and advanced. Windsurfers racing in the novice divisions will only race on Saturday - with advanced divisions racing both days. Cost for novice racers - $15 // Advanced Racers - entry fee is $25! We supply gear for the novice racers - just check with us ahead and Register Online!
