Posting about Fake checks, badges and lamps.

Several users of the web site have complained about the tone and dubious content of some of the latest e-mails regarding fake checks. While I agree with these people I don’t want to stop bona fide users of the web site (i.e. those who are prepared to sign in with their proper name and e-mail address) from posting news about fake checks etc. This will eliminate the current situation where the “faker” is posting antagonising e-mails in other people’s name in a general attempt to antagonise people even more. This just leads to tit-for-tat mudslinging posts which are not welcomed in this Forum.
In line with the second of the general Forum user rules (see the header of the Forum web page) users of the Forum are kindly requested to;

“News relating to suspected fake items of mining memorabilia or items for sale on Ebay etc. should be restricted to the General & Collecting News Section of the Forum.”

The above section of the web site is password protected and passwords can only be issued to individuals via e-mail application to the NMMA’s secretary (Jeremy Winter). Jeremy has already been contact a couple of times by an individual(s) posing as collectors and/or NMMA members who have requested the password for this part of the Forum so that they can post messages in it. Having smelt a rat on such occasions Jeremy has declined to issue the password. Thus the system works.

Users of the Forum are kindly requested to help us keep any further unwanted e-mails from being posted by sticking to the general user rules stated at the top of the Forum. All in appropriate posting on fake checks appearing in sections of the Forum other than the password protected “General & Collecting News” section will be deleted.

Thanks

NMMA Webmaster
