Sherwood Check???????????????????????/

A check for sale on ebay item 200537991855
is advertised as a Sherwood check.
These are very large,55mm top to bottom with the letter "S" embossed on them.I was told these were Sharlston checks.
Can anyone verify which colliery they came from??

Re: Sherwood Check???????????????????????/

These were used at NCB Sharleston Collliery, most likely as pay checks.
