FAKE RARE HAILWOOD AND ACKROYD LAMPS FROM INDIA

Lamp collectore beware of Fake lamps from India.
An Indian company, called Fab Collectables, and based in India is advertising on E-Bay "Rare Hailwood and Ackroyd" miners lamps made in Britain and have been used in Indian Coal Mines. They look great lamps in the picture!!
However, although the company strenuously guarantee them to be as described, they are old Dey of India miners lamps complete with lock facility (removed). The steel bonnets have been dipped in copper and a NEW Hailwood and Ackroyd badge stuck on. They look fabulous lamps but are just old scrap Dey lamps tarted up.
So beware and do not be tempted to buy one.

Re: FAKE RARE HAILWOOD AND ACKROYD LAMPS FROM INDIA

DON'T BUY FROM INDIA.
THE FAKE HAILWOOD AND ACKROYD COST NEARLY AS MUCH TO POST IT BACK AS IT WAS BOUGHT FOR. AND A CHAP I KNOW WHO ORIGINATES FROM INDIA SAYS IT WILL BE LUCKY TO GET THERE WITHOUR BEING OPENED AND STOLEN!
SO THE LESSON IS DON'T BUY FROM ANY DODGY COUNTRIES, THERES LITTLE HOPE OF GETTING A STRAIGHT ITEM AND LESS HOPE OF GETTING YOUR COSTS BACK.
