Pilkingtons Lamp

There was a lamp on ebay (370438970125) recently, stamped 'Pilkingtons, St Helens'. The auction seems to have finished early (yet again!).

Any thoughts or info on the manufacturer? Is it the famous glassmaker?

Re: Pilkingtons Lamp

May be made for the glassmakers, looks like a Naylor lamp of
The 1920s … OR ..Pilkington Colliery Co (Astley Green Colliery) this was
An offshoot of the Clifton & Kersley Coal Co ( Wet Earth Colliery)

I think someone from Astley Green Museum has made an offer on this Lamp and had it pulled of.

Above is interesting site on Wet Earth Colliery.

Now whether Astley Green Museum aquired the lamp or not or not will be found out eventually if it goes on show!!

Re: Pilkingtons Lamp

Well it was good to see the lamp anyway - I have a bonneted jack davy with the same name on, but the gauze has rubbed part of the name away when the oil vessel has been screwed/unscrewed. I was previously unable to identify it until the ebay lamp appeared!

Re: Pilkingtons Lamp

Official reply from Astley Green Mining Museum is that they did NOT bid on the lamp.
