Roth Conversion

Hi,

I know that traditional IRAs can be converted to Roth IRAs in 2010 with no income limitations. Is it also possible to convert money from a tax-deferred 403b plan into a Roth?

Thank you very much!

Re: Roth Conversion

The rules changed a few years back where you are not limited to converting just IRA money into a Roth. So you should be able to convert 403b money into a Roth IRA. (Check out: http://www.mdtaxes.com/news0906.html)

I'm not sure whether you can convert money from your current employer's plan into an IRA. You can ask the plan's administrator if this type transaction will be allowed.
