Car Expenses

I have a question automobile expenses. I have both W-2 and 1099 income. Can I deduct all of my automobile expenses against the 1099 income even though some of mileage relates to my employed W-2 job. Thanks

Re: Car Expenses

With business mileage, we generally try to match the mileage to the income. So when people work as both W-2 and 1099, we claim the mileage associated with the 1099 income on the Schedule C, and then claim the remaining business mileage on the 2106 if that will save them any taxes.
