noncash benefits withholding taxes

My employer offers domestic partner health benefits, BUT I have to pay taxes on the non-cash contribution (the employers portion of the health insurance paid...?) DO I have to pay these taxes...? and how do I know how much is paid on my behalf for insurance and what the tax schedule is...? Is there any return on theses taxes paid...? what is the MD law re: this?
