charitable contributions

hi,
for donating to charity, if i donated money onthe 30th of dec by writing a check, but it does not get cashed until this year, can i still claim the deduction for 2007 since that is when i wrote the check?

If you wrote the check and mailed it prior to midnight on 12/31/07, then you'll deduct that donation on your 2007 tax return.
