Re: Amortize purchase price of partnership buyin?

This all depends on exactly what you're buying. If you're buying shares of an S-Corp or C-Corp, the answer is most likely no.

But if you're buying an interest in an LLC or a Partership, the answer is probably maybe. The CPA for the group should be able to give you some guidance on whether you're entitled to any type of write-off in connection with your buy-in.
