Re: Orthopedic Surgeons' increasing profits via installing MRI Scanner in offic

As a CPA practicing in Massachusetts, it's my understanding that it's very difficult for Orthopedic groups to get permission to install their own MRI System within the state. To install an MRI in Massachusetts, you need to obtain a Certificate of Need, which is, from what I'm told, almost impossible to obtain.

Do you as CPAs advise on such issues? There is no single thing a Orthopedic group can do to increase profits like this than to install their own MRI System.....the Radiologists have figures this out decades ago.

2 patients a day breaks even----5 year profits could be up to 1.6M + depending on volumes.....
