Unfortunately, I think you just need to wait until the IRS figures out what to do with all of the refund claims that they have received.

Replying to:

I filed the request for return of ss taxes during residency as suggested. However, I never heard back from the IRS. Shouldn't they acknowledge the receipt ? Should I continue to wait ?
