claiming a child on taxes after he is 18

My divorce decree allowed my ex to claim "the minor child, G" (my older son)on his taxes. G is now 18, has always lived with me and still does. Since he is over 18 and thus no longer a minor, does the divorce decree still apply? or can I claim him as a dependant on my taxes now?

I would say that this depends on what the "age of majority" is in your state. In Massachusetts where I live, the age of majority is 21. Your tax preparer or divorce attorney should be able to let you know when someone reaches the age of majority in your state.
