Home office deduction

I am a fellow and I use a second bedroom exclusively for managing my work schedule, working on presentatios and my medical research projects.
Can I deduct a portion of my rent as ahome office deduction?

Thank you

Re: Home office deduction

If you use a portion of your home regularly and exclusively in connection with your profession, and don't use it for any other purpose for even one day during the year, then you should be eligible for the home office deduction.

You will base your deduction on the square footage of your home office divided by the square footage of your whole home. You will multiply that ratio by the rent and utilities you paid during the year.
