Re: Internet access

I've had a few clients audited by the IRS and by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue who deducted their home internet access costs s part of their professional expenses. We claimed these expenses directly on either the Schedule if the person had self-employment income or on a 2106 if the person was only compensated as an employee. In most instances, we were told that the business use percentage of the cost of the home internet service should have been reported on the Home Office Deduction Form (8829).
