home appraisal deduction

May I deduct part of appraisal cost if I use part of house as business ( home office )

Zip Code: 92103

Re: home appraisal deduction

Oleg,

Yes, I think you can deduct a portion of the cost of an appraisal if you are using your home for business purposes. Your deduction would be prorated for the % of your house used for business.

You would be subject to the home office deduction rules that may restrict how much you actually get to deduct.
