Hi- We are very interested in the Barefoot Bay community and are hoping to come to look at some available homes in the spring. Could anyone give me any info about homeowners insurance cost and availability? We have been in New Orleans area for 16 years and ins. has gone from $1200 per year(2005) to $4600 since Katrina visited us. This does not include flood insurance,another $800 per year. There are only 3 companies writing policies here so there is no shopping for a better price. Is it any better in your area?
Seems like a great place to live, we just need to be a little informed before we make a decision. Thanks for any information you might have!
