Re: Moving to Barefoot Bay!

The vast majority of Barefoot Bay residents are 60+, however it is not an age restricted community. As long as the children respect the space of their neighbors, I don't think there would be a problem (The lots are close quarters).

There is a fair amount of younger families and quite a few that rent properties. You will notice alot of grandchildren visiting also. My parents bought property here in 1970 (first for vacations, then retirement) and I was about 12 years old and had a great time as a frequent visitor and was always treated nicely by the full time residents.

The two hurricanes caused extreme damage to the park, but it is just about back to normal now!

Thanks soo much!

Re: Re: Re: Moving to Barefoot Bay!

Welcome Casey! I'm a "Junior Citizen" (not quite a Senior) and this community is just wonderful, but needs the younger couples to come. We'd love to have you and look forward to your move. It's my firm belief that young blood keeps us all young inside.
Warm regards, Lori

Re: Re: Re: Re: Moving to Barefoot Bay!

We have owned in the bay for many years and love it here. However if you have young children there really isn't much here, we have a small play area, no real recreation area for them it is more geared for adults and retirees. you will meet the occassional adult who doesn't seem to enjoy the fact that children live in the bay but for the most part everyone is very friendly some are just feeling a little unsafe at times with some of the teenagers that cause problems. it all depends on the person what they like and enjoy doing. maybe you could try renting for a month or two before you buy.

good luck debbie

Re: Re: Re: Re: Moving to Barefoot Bay!

Hi Debbie, I am moving to Barefoot Bay this year and I have a 10 year old. We have visited there (as most of my family already lives there) and we love it. It offers a charm that you can't find in too many communities these days, I want my son to know respect and see that people of any age are great to be with.
Look forward to getting there, hopefully our kids will get to know each other.
:)
