Help surfing with a Powerbook 165

Hi there

As part of the retro challange and perhaps as part of a challenge to myself. I've been trying to get my PB 165 connected via our broadband router to the internet. Using an Asante mini SCSI network adaptor. I've thus far been able to connect to the router and browse it's firware. However when ever i try to browse somewhere like google or everymac.com. It says the domain isn't found. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm using MACTCP to configure my TCP settings.

Thanks
James

Re: Help surfing with a Powerbook 165

How have you configured your router? Most likely, it's set up as a DHCP server. Unfortunately, MacTCP does not support DHCP. That's almost certainly your problem.

You have two options: Configure your router to use a subset of IP addresses for DHCP, and set your 165 to use one of the addresses not in that subset.

Or, install Open Transport on your 'book, which does support DHCP.
