powerbook 190cs

Hi. I recently got acquired a powerbook 190cs.
It has a PowerPC label on its front, which seems rather odd since the 190cs is 68k. Furhtermore, it has a 5300 enabler. I'm starting to wonder if it hasn't actually been upgraded to ppc by means of using a 5300 logic board.
If i go to about this macintosh it says it is a powerbook 190.
My question is: Is there a way (like you can in os x) to look at the system configuration in System 7.5.3?
Cheers

Re: powerbook 190cs

I seem to recall if you upgrade to 7.5.5 then Apple System Profile is in the Apple Menu on PB 5300, 1400 and 190c. This should give you the hardware specs and any cards you have installed.
Look at lowendmac for the upgrade possibilities.

Re: powerbook 190cs

If you don't want to install a new OS for some reason, you can run a program like speedometer. By correlating the result with its database of benchmarks, you can probably figure out fairly quickly whether or not it has been upgraded.
