Apple CD-ROM drivers

I'm trying to get a Apple CD 300 working with my SE/30...where might the drivers be? AppleCD 5.3.1 is for OS7 upwards...

Re: Apple CD-ROM drivers

There are a couple of options. One is CD sunrise, which is a tiny, system-6 compatible driver. Its only drawback is a lack of audio support.

My memory must be bad, because I thought 5.3.1 does work with 6. Have you actually tried it with system 6?

The other issue that you will run into is that many discs will provoke a desktop rebuild, which is tough to achieve with a read-only medium. You will need to install desktop mgr in your system 6 folder to prevent this. Other than that, I can't recall what else you might need to make it work.
