the writing on the wall

There is something that disturbs me every time I see it....
On my job, I stay on the road all day long, as a result I take advantage of public restroom facilities all over my county. Almost every time I enter one of these restrooms, there is writing all over the walls. Sometimes I see it and I just shake my head.
Oh, it's not the writing of the perverts and sinners that disturbs me or shocks me, I expect it from them, they are just being true to their nature. But it is the writing by Christians! "Jesus Saves" "John 3:16" "Jesus loves you".
I know their intentions are good, but it's my opinion that their methods are wrong!
I always think, "I wonder what the owner of this establishment thinks of these Christians who are writing graffiti on his walls?" " Do sinners reading these messages see any difference in their actions and the actions of the Christian" "what about the guy scrubbing this stuff off the wall, does he curse the christians any less for causing him more work than he does the pervert?"
Yes, we are to be witnesses for Christ. People need to know there is a remedy for sin, that they can be set free from the bondage of sin, but what kind of witness are we being when we are causing damage to someones property, even with good intentions?
IT IS NEVER RIGHT TO DO WRONG!!!
As Christians, we should respect the property of others and live a life that reveals Jesus Christ. If a man's actions don't line up with his words he's wasting his breath, (or his ink in this case!)
I always carry Gospel tracts with me to leave in restrooms, now I don't leave a whole bunch in there to be scattered around and cause someone to have to clean up, but one or two placed on the mirror, or sink or somewhere like that. This causes no damage, and gets the Gospel in the hands of the sinner.
We should always examine and be aware our methods. Methods can make the difference in how receptive a sinner is to the Gospel of Christ.
How receptive do you think the waitress who only recieves a Gospel tract for a tip is going to be? Not as receptive as the one who witnesses the generosity of a Christian through recieving a good tip ($) and a gospel tract!
Who will be more receptive, the sinner who sees that the Christian who is telling him that God can change his life writes on the wall just like he does, or the one who sees that the Christian respects other peoples property and cares enough for his soul to leave him a Gospel tract to tell him the good news?
Whats your opinion?
