redeeming the time
Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Have we ever seen a more evil time in the history of the world? occult activity, murders, sodomites, child molestations, neglect, rebellion, promiscuity, road rage, and here lately gas rage! we see so much greed, idolitry, perversion, this day and time and much of it is in so called christian churches. yesterday i was reading an interview with a pastor of one of our local churches, a church of 11,000, and he was proud to announce to all that he was a big fan of The Eagles, a satanic rock band, who sing Hotel California a song about the First Church of Satan out in california. He said he just recently attended one of their concerts! And for those who do stand true to the word of God, we are facing hatred and persicution on all sides. (but it's going to get worse) yes, we are living in an evil day, a dangerous day, a day when you must lock your doors and in most places can't walk the street after dark for fear of being robbed, killed, or raped. 2 timothy 3:1-7 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. for of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 timothy 3:12-13 yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. but evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. I believe we are in the last days. we look around and see the wickedness in this world, we see the wars and rumors of wars, we see flood, famine, fierce winds, and the very foundations of the earth being shaken. disease and dispare. and just like birth pangs, it's just building in intensity and frequency. We see things being lined up prophetically from things in the middle east to the number of the beast, from a one world government, to a one world church. (ecumenical movement is the beginning) How short our time must be, our job is not finished. it's time for the children of God to wake up out of our sleep and be about the Lords business! The Lords business isn't preaching some social gospel, or some self-inprovement or feel good message. it isn't about healing, although our Lord is the Great Physician and is still in the healing business. It's about the healing of the soul. Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost. After all, what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and loose his soul? If we get him healthy, happy, successful, well fed and feeling good about himself and neglect to tell him how to be saved by the grace of God what have we accomplished? NOTHING!!! what has he gained? NOTHING!!! it's all temporal! Yes, these are all good things and we should have the compassion to help those who are in need, it's scriptural. But we must focus on the main thing and the main thing is to be witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the whole world. to tell them how God so loved the world.... The scripture says "redeeming the time" it has the basic meaning of buying up opportunity, or time. we should be using every opportunity to reach out to those who are lost and undone without Christ. time is short and "the night cometh when no man can work" Opportunity is now, Christ could come at any time and if we fail to stand and declare the Gospel to a lost and dying world, we will stand one day at the Judgement Seat of Christ with blood on our hands. Oh, you say, "i've been hearing about Jesus coming back since i was a kid, and they were saying that back in the days of my grandfather" I have actually heard that statement with my own ears from a man I work with! 2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation. These who would say this are just fulfilling the scripture. Yes HE IS COMING BACK AND VERY SOON! If we don't have a compassion for souls, if we are too busy with our own lives, too wrapped up in our own ajenda, just content at being saved and delivered from hell ourselves, at ease in zion, then we need to get right, and get busy! John 4:35 Say not ye, there are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, i say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us |
