Tomorrow is a special day for me. If Dottie were still here, we’d be celebrating our anniversary. Six years ago tomorrow we finally found the courage to talk openly to each other about the love we were finding together. It was the beginning of the happiest and most wonderful period of my life. I’m not sure what I will do tomorrow, but I will find some way to feel my Sweetie’s presence and celebrate the love that so enriched us both. We were able to find on that day six years ago the courage to follow our hearts even when our heads were filled with doubts. We were richly rewarded for taking the risk we took that day.
I can only hope I find it within me to continue to embrace my life without her in the same way we embraced our time together. I face different challenges now and will be called upon to take new risks. I hope I will move ahead with the same kind of courage she brought out in me on that very special day back then. |
