Camp Update - #1

As the camp rapidly approaches, please note the following information.

* We will be staying in "rustic" cabins. All have been improved in the past 3 years. There are bunk beds with foam mattresses on each. The cabins sleep 10 - 12. If you have preferences on your cabin mates, please e-mail me at gerryv@teamhighprofile.com. There will be a space heater in each provided by the camp management.

* Due to the full two day schedule involving ropes and navigation, swiftwater training will not be included in this camp as originally planned.

* If you have a climbing harness, please bring it. Also, e-mail me if you have one. The adventure course planned for Sunday will move alot smoother the more harnesses we have.

* Add to mandatory gear, a bike helmet. The helmet will be mandatory during the adventure course on Sunday.

* Active Endeavors will have climbing helmets, harnesses, locking carabiners, 7mm Prusik cord, 1' runners, and head lamps for sale at the camp. You will receive a 15% discount on all.

* I am looking for an accomplished guitar player and singer for the campfire on Saturday night. If you are, please e-mail me.

* Since this is a sanctioned United States Adventure Racing Association event (USARA). All participants are required to purchase either an $8 single event license or $35 annual membership. This license is required to be covered under the insurance plan. This will be collected from each participant at the time of check in.

* Bring snacks (Clif bars, raisins, candy bars) to munch on during the day on Saturday and Sunday. We are not going to stop the activities to eat.

* Bring extra clothes. You will be getting wet, especially on Sunday.

Additional updates will be forthcoming as we get closer to the camp.
