Freshers week

Salam. Inshallah I am going to come to cardff university come september. The freshers week falls during ramadhan and i was wondering if the islamic society has something planned for us muslims who would prefer to read taraveeh and pray rather than follow the norm and get wasted during freshers week. I am seriously comtemplating not coming university until after eid as it wil lbe really hard to concentrate on faith during freshers week (although i'm pretty sure i will have to come for enrolment etc)

Re: Freshers week

Salaam,
Dont worry too much about freshers week the events are ususally limited to the evenings and dont really interfere with whats happening during the day. We had lectures from week 1 so its prob worth finding out what your schedule is like. As for keeping up faith you could come down to cardiff early and and if you are free after enrollment you could do itikaaf in one of the local mosques perhaps? the isoc doesnt arrange tarawih but there are several mosques just mins away from the uni.
