There will be an auction of celebrity postcards, proceeds going to Carers UK. It will be in conjunction with the publication of Nothing to write home about, at the beginning of October. I'm afraid the reason there is no information on the websites yet, is because the powers that be haven't confirmed dates, etc. Do keep checking back on the websites. I will also put another message on this forum to give you all the final details. We are expecting it to be in October. And it will be an online auction. Of course US fans can bid. I hope this helps. Thanks for the info and explanation. I am afraid my testiness was due to frustration at knowing I would forget the auction because of all the other stuff I have to remember----if I couldn't write a date in my book, pfft! gone from memory. It was also just a bad day all around. Thanks for offering to come back and remind us of the date!  s |

Hi, Finally I have news about the celebrity postcard auction where you can purchase a postcard from Alan Davies, amongst other comedians, actors, musicians, etc (check out the list, at www.abadie.co.uk/postcards/sponsors.htm, you never know, you may want another one!) All the proceeds go to Carers UK. Thank you for your patience but I'm afraid you need a little more because the powers that be have decided to not do the auction until the beginning of December! Hi All, Well I'm afraid to say I will be competing for this too. Sorry other fans. I did win a couple of the Jonathan Creek videos on e-bay last year but have still not got over losing to a man over Alan's union flag boxers. Just putting the dates in the diary now. So I need to try and win this to esuage the negative feelings about my past failure Hey BTW Nickie (I think it was you), the lady you said spoke to you when you were writing a reply and I didn't believe you and asked you if you were taking something. Hi Bumping this one up to the top with a silly post, as this thread is a good cause. Nickie, I just showed my 14yr old daughter the lady who speaks, and she called my "stupid" and a "child underneath". She wasn't entertained by it at all.  Helen

Your daughter needs to spend a week or so with me, helen!!Now if these youngsters only had a hoop and stick to play with like when I was a youth(and you only got the stick if it was your birthdaY!!), they'd learn to appreciate Robot Woman for the miracle of modern science that she is!I sound like one of the Grumpy Old Women now, but at least this thread is back at the top of the page!!

don't know what part of britain you live in maj but half dead ponies pulling sinister looking kids in twee carts are a bit of a rarity in my neck of the woods. Will be able to study it in more detail soon cos I'm still the winning bid!!!!YAAAAAAY
