Alan are you on at the Fringe this year?

Hi Alan,

Could you let us know if you are on at the Fringe this year either in stand up or more likely I suppose now, in a play, like last time?

Me and my hubby are going up to the Fringe in August and of course knowing when you are on, will help me choose the best day to go.

I would rather ask you on here than e-mail you directly.

Look forward to your answer.

Take Care

Helen

P.S The only dates we can go now is going on 6th and returning on 8th August.
So if you are performing either 6th or 7th anywhere it would be great to know.

Thanks

Re: Alan are you on at the Fringe this year?

Hi,

Well I've checked right through the Fringe brochure and I can't find Alan anywhere so I hope he hasn't slipt in under the wire like he did when he ws in'The Odd Couple'. I just happened to be in Edinburgh when that was on and was walking passed the Assembly and saw a giant poster of him. My husband then kindly changed all our families's plans for the day and we cued up to get late release tickets for that very day.

So in the absence of Alan this year , we have booked Mark Watson for this Monday night and then we are going from that to the late night BBC Live Stand Up Show. Then On Tues night we are going to see Jason Manford. Can't wait for the train journey Monday morning, it all begins then for me. I LOVE THE FRINGE!!

I love the way you just meet people on the street.
So far I have met Alan of course, Bill Bailey, Peter Kay, The guy who used to be in neighbours and now does stand up-(Jo Mangle his name was on Neigbours), and I was very excited to meet Ronnie Corbett. Of course meeting Alan was the most exciting for me.

Did you meet Ronnie Corbett or just tread on him??Must confess ahve never been to the fringe, but judging by my luck with securing q.i tickets-i.e.none-it might be the way to go and worth considering next year. have a great time Helen!

Hi,

Yes, I know what you mean, Ronnie Corbett is tiny in real life.

I just told him how wonderful it was to meet him and shook his hand. he said "Oh delightful, thank you so much and gave me a big grin", he's lovely.

Peter Kay was lovely too, gave me a big kiss and a hug. He smelt amazing!!

We've just booked another show today. It's an afternoon show called Trumptonshire and it's Phil Jupitus with Brian Cant who used to narrate Trumpton et al. It's a nostalgic trip down memory lane for us 40 somethings.
We are also going to the World Press Photo 07 exhibition at the Scottish Parliament and going on the open top bus tour. Will there be any time to eat, sleep and drink I ask myself??

Helen
