Just saying Hi after being missing for a while
Hi to all those who know of me and to a couple of you who know me personally. As you may have noticed I haven't posted since the middle of June and before that hardly at all since back in May sometime. Of course before that I was rather prolific in my postings and enthusiasm and those of you are are more aware of me know what a massive fan of Alan I am. A couple of you know about the massive relationship trauma I experienced back in May. Without going into too much detail, my marriage of nearly 20 yrs was almost over several times because of it. However I am pleased to report that so far we are hanging in there and trying to make things work. It has been a devastating time for me, as I am struggling with big trust issues and that is why I haven't been around on the forum for a while. Suzy I am sorry I didn't reply to your 'About a dog' question, I have only seen it today. Yes, I did post a warning a while ago that it was coming up. Ironically, I have missed the first 2 episodes myself because it clashed with our couple's relationship counselling sessions  I am hoping to catch up on the last on on the internet though. I haven't even been watching Alan alot recently even when I knew he was on the TV (Terrible isn't it?)  But tonight I am going to sit down and watch QI 10pm BBC2.  I promise to be around a little more now. Helen is back!!

Hi All, Just went to listen on t'internet to 'About a Dog' and disappointment the 'listen again' is not available. Can anyone else confirm or deny whether I am right on this or not. I was really looking forward to hearing it. Thanks Helen

First of all, Helen, let me say I am sorry for your recent pain. While I certainly cannot know how you feel, I dealt with the breakdown of a marriage some time ago. It's enervating to say the least. "Life-changing" at the best. Re About A Dog and the Listen Again function on BBC4: it appears they are having problems with the radio player itself and nearly all of the programs are not available. I hope it gets fixed by next Tuesday! Take it easy on yourself! s |

Hi Suzy, Thanks for your kind words. My close friends have also said the nicest and supporting things to me. It makes such a difference. I few weeks ago I wasn't, but at the moment I dare to be hopeful about the future.  Thanks for the message about the 'Listen Again', I'll keep checking. Take Care Helen |

Thanks Nickie, I will do, that's good advice. BTW, the irony of choosing the other night to sit down and treat myself to a session of Alan on QI after a long gap of not watching. I only went and picked the night he buggered off to watch Arsenal didn't I.  Oh Well That's Life!! What I need right now to cheer me up is a another Green Room session with Alan. I will have to wait till next year now though. Take Care |

Hi Amy, Thank you for your kind words. It's a rollercoaster. Been up and then down today, but will be ok in the long run I'm sure .You ask am I still as Alan obsessed as ever? Yes. It would take nothing short of a nuclear war to change that!! I am not offending those I love at home to say that?  Helen |
